Announcing Transformation Awards 2024! Please, save the date!

The Center for Respite Care has set Transformation Awards 2024 to drop virtually on September 24, 2024.  After many years as an in-person event, the experience of the COVID pandemic has led the awards committee to determine that supporters appreciate the ability to view the festivities at their convenience.

In prior years the event has been emceed by Channel 12’s health expert Liz Bonis — who likely will again return. Liz has been a stealth proponent of the Center’s work and is personally extraordinarily committed to the greater community.

Honorees for 2024 will be announced in the weeks ahead. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Sponsors are people and organizations who desire to closely align with the Center’s mission and — at the same time— provide financial support to the Transformation Awards celebration.

For over ten years, this has been the Center’s premier fundraising effort.

The Transformation Awards honors individuals and organizations who have played transformational roles in the community. 2023 was a special tribute to Dr. Bob Donovan, a leader in the Center’s founding 20 years ago — and others who were part of the Center’s founding and growth.

Who is Dr. Bob Donovan?

After being in private practice for several years, Dr. Bob Donovan entered the Society of Mary. Following his profession of vows, he returned to Cincinnati and became the Medical Director of the Cincinnati Health Care for the Homeless Program in 1988. As part of his duties, he delivered primary care to people experiencing homelessness via the Mobile Medical Clinic, regularly visiting the city’s shelters. From this effort, the Center for Respite Care was born. He currently cares for people experiencing homelessness (and others) at the Kate Bennett NeighborHub Health Primary Care Center in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. Weekly, he oversees medical operations for the Center for Respite Care.

TA 2024 will recognize honorees reflective of the community at large.
